Linc Facility Services “Goes Live” With Summit Technology

HOUSTON/ATHENS, ALA. – Summit Technology of Athens, Ala., announces that the 5-year support contract they signed with Linc Facility Services (LFS) of Houston, Texas, was put into place this month when the project “went live.” Summit, an Information Technology consulting firm that specializes in PeopleSoft human resources and financial management, proposed its full support model to LFS.  This model includes full hosting, PeopleSoft application maintenance and support, and operational maintenance and support.  PeopleSoft, which was acquired by Oracle, provides comprehensive customer relationship management and enterprise resource planning software solutions to many corporations.

The process of converting LFS’s PeopleSoft system into Summit’s hosting environment is referred to as the project’s “Go Live” event.  Several months of preparation went into preparing the project to “Go Live,” and the event went very smoothly, said Tom Bridges, Summit’s Project Manager for the contract.

“Linc Facility Services (LFS) recently selected Summit Technology as a new business partner providing hosting services and application support for its Financial and HRMS systems that run PeopleSoft software.  The new partnership has experienced a great beginning with the very successful transition of the systems to the new hosting data center.  The project was accomplished on schedule with only planned interruption to the system availability.  System performance after the first week is very good with many users reporting improved speed.  LFS is looking forward to focusing on achieving business objectives through our systems while controlling costs.  We believe that our partnership with Summit, with system maintenance provided by Rimini Street, will enable us to meet our goals,” said Sherry Lessner, LFS’s Director of Project/Program Services.

Gerald Newsom, Summit’s vice president of sales, said LFS’s previous contractual arrangement required LFS to upgrade to the latest PeopleSoft versions of Human Capital Management and Financial Management as well as renew the maintenance contract through its vendor, and the organizational leadership felt like there were alternative solutions in the market that would entertain their desires with a much more efficient solution.

“Linc has chosen to partner with Summit because we can allow them to make investment decisions at their own pace, ultimately minimizing expenditures while continuing to enhance their operational status around their PeopleSoft environment,” said Newsom.

Steve Beard, Summit’s president and CEO, said the proposed model allows LFS to continue to operate in the same capacity that it has been with minimal costs, and it provides a support mechanism that is flexible as needs arise.

“This model will create substantial cost savings with increased depth around support for their [LFS] current investment of PeopleSoft,” said Beard.

Summit will transfer LFS’s hardware systems to its world-class hosting center.  This will enable Summit to provide LFS with a superior and less expensive hosting solution for its PeopleSoft Human Capital Management and Financial systems.
